Ares Armor has redesigned the EFFIN-A Compensator with the MKII model coming in at half the weight and a more minimalist tuning system. There are now 21 ports for customizing the comp to your individual rifle and round. Set screws will bottom out for a secure fit and clear chamber.
The EFFIN-A MKII Comp 5.56 weighs in at just 2.5 ounces and now has a one piece design. Currently the MKII version is only available for rifles chambered in 5.56/.223 as well as a version for .308 and .300 caliber rifles. Both versions are available in Black.

Excellent for the price, easily tuned, might be my imagination but seems to quiet report as well.

I am a huge fan of Ares Armor products, My AR is mainly comprised of Ares parts. As anyone who has purchased any of their products knows they pride themselves on excellence. My BCG is Ares, 80% Lower also Ares... it only made sense to go with a highly reviewed and innovative product. I know this does not affect the quality, but the packaging was creative... the MD came in a prescription bottle with a humorous instructions usage warning.
And as for Predator Armaments role in supplying me the part, I could not be happier, excellent communication and incredibly fast shipping. I am definitely a satisfied customer.

Take the time to tune it properly and you'll have zero muzzle flip/movement. Allows you to match the compensator to any rifle/ammo configuration. Excellent product. Plus one for being a product of a veteran owned company.

Initial tests were great. I think I can tweak it out a little more but that will have to wait until the next visit to the range.
After putting 4 set screws into the bottom, I was able to hit the 100m target 20/20 times within 15 seconds or so. Very little rise in muzzle after tuning it. I may be able to take virtually all the rise out by changing where I have the screws placed.
All in all, great comp!

I have been running a Mk1 for my piston AR and years and it is perfect. I bought a Mk2 to pin and weld to the front of my 5.56 AK, and it has ZERO muzzle flip. I'm about to buy another Mk2 for my lightweight AR build. I will never buy another compensator. No other muzzle device allows you to completely tune the performance for your rifle. Surefire has a model that allows you to open or close 1 hole, but it comes nowhere near the adjustability you get with an Ares.
Also, the dudes that run Ares Armor are retired Marines and are cool as hell.

Looks great, sounds great, works great. I still have to take it to an in-door range and see how friendly it is to the ears there, but it works amazing. Initial installation was easy. Fired about 30 rounds tweeking it to me. first round i could already see a big difference compared to the A2 flash compensator and much quieter than the more popular tripple side ports, which was what i was hoping for. About 10 shots of tweeking and it was already extremely steady. the next 20 were just me having fun seeing what it can do and if i could get it even flatter. It has been about a week I am almost 500 rounds down range between my friends, other patrons, and myself firing it, and everyone loves it.

It's every thing everybody else has stated, it's small, well made, looks good on the end of your pole, and works. The best thing about it its adjustable. No other Comp. can do that as far as I know. Normally when you buy a comp. it either works or not, you can't do a lot with it. This one you could keep a log on the location of the plugs and use it on different rifles of the same caliber. I have one on my AR-5.56 and one on my AR-5.45. Last but not lease, it's loud. I'm still looking for the muffler.

Easy to install with the proper tools, super easy to time once installed. Reduces felt recoil and muzzle jump/climb. Helps the shooter stay on target for better groups during rapid fire. I would recommend this to anyone not looking to use a suppressor.
